What If You Stopped Mass Messaging and Started Listening?

Every week, I receive dozens of connection requests from people pretending to be interested in what I do, often congratulating me for my work, without the slightest idea of what we do at Level Up.

I see a new wave of automation tools popping up every day: messaging platforms, AI-powered outreach engines, and engagement bots. The playbook is always the same: send a vague connection request with a weak excuse, unlock messaging rights without spending Sales Navigator credits, and then… the pitch.

The pitch always comes: a generic message about their company, their amazing solution, and of course, how they’re ready to solve my problems.

But let me ask you: is this really what we call selling?

Is this how we’re supposed to understand customer needs?

Is this what builds loyalty, trust, and true commercial partnership?

Where is the curiosity?

Where’s the genuine interest in uncovering real problems and discovering shared opportunities?

Where’s the learning that comes from a meaningful discussion with a client, one that goes beyond that moment and sparks new ideas, both for them and for you?

In particular, if you are a young professional, starting in sales, dare to be different; this is your life's moment to decide who you want to be. Invest in your learning, and deliver real value.

Less volume, more substance = better, lasting results.
